The California Zephyr line between Chicago and San Francisco has a stop in Grand Junction. The route includes stations in Truckee, Salt Lake City, and Denver. The train ride is long but bring your laptop for work, pre-prepared meals, and/or card games. Or look out the window to witness breathtaking scenery of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains between Denver and Grand Junction.

Interstate 70 –

Avoid the Friday westbound traffic and Sunday eastbound traffic in North America’s most notorious highway stretch between Denver and Vail.
